I’ve been MIA from my blog this last week. I missed you. I was down at SIBA (the Southern Independent Booksellers Association) trade show with my pal, Wendy Welch, who is launching her first book, The Little Bookstore of Big Stone Gap.
In the last three weeks I’ve driven through 11 U.S. States!
And in the last week, I’ve been sitting and driving and driving and sitting. It’s great to be home and back to my routine. I’ve done two little three-mile runs which both felt hard. I’m a little freaked about being ready for the Baker Lake 50K! I’m only three weeks out from my last marathon, so I’m hoping that if I get a long run in this weekend or next I’ll be OK. Yikes.
This is only my third 50K. Has anyone out there run Baker Lake? Any advice? Anyone?
Whoo!! Should have run in each of those states! I obviously have very little advice to give on running 50k’s as I’ve never run one. I do know new experiences though. I’m running a race this weekend a marathon shorter than your 50k, but it’s something new and exciting all the same. Running for a team, all of whom are faster, but whom I actually get along with. It’s about the challenge, and accepting what is inevitable and the adventures of a new life.
You’ll do great, Brandon!!! Post pictures. xoxo
